- .... Transfer rigged characters from one .blend file to another?
- First, lets assume you named your character object as "Actor" and its
armature rig as "ActorArmature". And also that the armature is applied
as a modifier on "Actor".
- Now in the file you want to import the Actor and its ActorArmature, follow the steps as listed below:
- Press SHIFT+F1 key or File->Append or Link and browse to the directory where your .blend file is stored.
- Once you select the file (middle mouse click), you will get a
categorized list of data in your blend file. Selecting "Object" will
list all objects in your file.
- By selecting "Actor" and "ActorArmature" you can import them into the file.
- .... Move/slide a vertex along an edge containing it?
- Select the vertex on the other side of the edge.
- Snap the 3D-cursor to the selected vertex by invoking the Snap Menu and choose Cursor -> Selection ( SHIFT+S 4 ).
- Choose the 3d-cursor as the rotating/scaling pivot. ( PERIOD_KEY or Choose Pivot: -> 3D Cursor from the 3D View header)
- Now choose the vertex you want to move/slide and scale it ( S_KEY )
